hi.
i'm a small design house.
ECG is a multi-disciplinary design and music house specializing in new media and traditional graphic design, music transcription and arranging, editing, and consulting. I take pride in working closely with my clients.
Invitation
Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 03:54PM As a favor for my wife, I designed an invitation to the concert she's planning here in town.
My goal was to create something outside typical institutional design rules, to make the 5.5 x 8.5" postcard stand out when one received it in the mail. I decided to put the focus of the eye, or the eye-catcher, on a big blob of black. I think it works well because the eye is drawn then to the rest of the text.
Beautiful Branding
Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 08:27AM I'm always looking to see what the latest branding creativity brings us. Though ECG focuses on the needs of smaller businesses, sole proprieters, and individual artists in numerous fields, I still see it is as important to keep up with the larger, more corporate design and service trends.
Creating a brand identity is essential to any business that interacts with their customers on a more personal level and wants to give their business a more unique image, based on the personality of the leadership. Just look at these amazing examples.

Design Simplicity of Apple's Design
Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:20AM Long have I been fascinated by Apple's Zen-like design philosophy. Why does it work?
An even more challenging question is: Why is Apple the leader in this new less-is-more design war? What do they do differently?
From advertising to industrial design, they just seem to nail it every time. I found this article fascinating - it's a deconstruction of what the simple policies are for Apple's design department, and what designers can learn from them.
