iTunes Iconography
Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 11:36AM If you look at iTunes icon designs, you'd never know that Apple has been the computer of choice for the design industry since the early 90's (in fact, pre-Jobs, it was the designers that kept them afloat). They're just plain awful:

In the music industry, amongst the consultant-hip-elite, it's a cardinal sin to use music notes or media (e.g. CDs, etc.) in a logo - it's just plain cheesy and ordinary.
The real issue here is that these logos say nothing about the professional and excellent quality of the iTunes product.
But, their more recent logo comes closer, as it brand-identifies its source:

Much better, I think.
